Job summary

City of Abilene Traffic Services is seeking skilled specialists to install, maintain, and repair traffic signals and related devices across Abilene, TX. Candidates will perform preventive maintenance, interpret blueprints, and support on-call duties after training.

Role spans I–III levels with increasing responsibility for supervision and complex diagnostics, and requires a strong safety mindset and reliable operation of field equipment.

Qualifications

• Entry-level to mid-level roles with training period and on-call duties.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Knowledge of TMUTCD and blueprints is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair traffic signal equipment and related signs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pavement markings and street lighting.
• Interpret blueprints, maps, and schematics for site preparation.
• Operate traffic counts using video or radar and related software.
