Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Jacksonville, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of traffic engineering experience. You will develop timing parameters, perform field assessments, and program signal controllers using local or ATMS software platforms.

You will work on a range of transportation projects, including planning, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS. An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to mentor others are valued as you help grow the practice and engage with clients.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience including timing plans or studies
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement traffic signal timing parameters.
• Perform field assessments of traffic patterns, signal infrastructure, and inventories
• Program signal controllers via local or ATMS software
• Contribute to transportation planning, ITS projects, and client interactions
• Mentor and guide junior staff and transition work to qualified staff
