Kimley-Horn's Lake Nona, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of traffic experience to join the Transportation/Traffic Signal Timing team. This on-site role emphasizes hands-on project delivery, mentorship, and growth within a well-established practice.

Responsibilities include developing timing plans, field assessments, and programing various signal controllers. The candidate will contribute to planning, ITS projects, and client engagements while supporting

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience with timing studies or related work.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree; EIT certification within 12 months preferred.
• Experience with traffic signal timing plans and reviewing traffic impact studies.
• Excellent technical writing and clear communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement traffic signal timing parameters.
• Perform field assessments of traffic patterns, signal infrastructure, and inventories.
• Program various signal controllers via local or ATMS platforms.
• Deliver transportation planning, ITS, and related projects for diverse clients.
• Lead, mentor, and contribute to marketing and business development.
• Assist with project profitability and transition work to qualified staff.
