Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of traffic engineering experience to join our Transportation/Traffic team. You will perform traffic engineering studies, support project management, and contribute to innovative ITS solutions for diverse clients.

You will mentor junior staff, help grow the practice, participate in business development, and gain exposure to plan production, project budgets, and client interactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience including traffic impact studies, parking studies, and site access/circulation studies.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's).
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience using Synchro, VISSIM, and/or other traffic analysis software.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills; detail-oriented; able to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS projects for diverse clients.
• Help grow the practice and contribute to the growth of the transportation team; engage in hands-on project delivery.
• Support project profitability, plan production, and client interactions; mentor junior staff and contribute to marketing and business development.
