Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Richmond, Virginia office seeks a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of traffic engineering to join the Transportation/Traffic team. This is not a remote position.

You will perform traffic engineering tasks, assist with project management and growth, and collaborate with experienced staff to deliver ITS projects for diverse clients while developing mentorship and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• Engineer-In-Training certification within 12 months or ability to obtain.
• Proficient with Synchro, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Visio or similar.
• Clear and concise technical writing and communication.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and ITS project tasks for diverse clients.
• Develop growth vision for personal practice while contributing to the team.
• Assist with managing projects profitability.
• Engage in hands-on project delivery and plan production.
• Transition work to qualified staff and mentor others.
• Support marketing and business development efforts and client interactions.
