Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices including signals and beacons. The role requires operating bucket trucks and other heavy equipment, wiring cables, and reading construction drawings.

On-call rotations for nights and weekends are essential. A high school diploma or GED plus related experience is required, with a Texas CDL obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks and pass exams.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices including signals and beacons.
  • Operate heavy equipment and hand tools to install and service equipment.
  • Install, splice, and terminate electrical and communication cables.
  • Interpret construction drawings and standards for signalized intersections.
  • Be on call nights/weekends for emergency response.
  • Perform related duties as required.
