The City of Lubbock is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices at signalized intersections. The role involves operating bucket and boom trucks, handling electrical and communications cabling, and performing on-call duty for emergencies at night and on weekends.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Texas CDL after hire.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or the GED equivalent with an additional 6 months to 1 year experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical or electronic equipment or general construction.
  • Valid Current Driver's License.
  • Ability to Obtain Texas Commercial Driver's License after hire.
  • Critical Infrastructure: extensive background checks and random drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices and equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment and hand tools.
  • Install, splice, and terminate electrical and communication cables.
  • Interpret and apply drawings and standards for signalized intersections.
  • On-call rotating for emergency repairs at night and on weekends.
