Job summary

County of Volusia seeks a Traffic Signal Trainee/Technician for the Road & Bridge Division in Daytona Beach, FL. You will perform skilled technical work on traffic signals, control devices and related electronics.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of signal construction/installation experience, plus a valid Florida driver’s license. IMSA certifications must be pursued within listed timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year traffic signal construction/installation experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• Must obtain IMSA Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control Technician certification within six months of hire and IMSA Traffic Signal Level I within one year.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain traffic signals and signal systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair defective traffic signals and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on signals and flashers.
• Attend to on-call emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
