Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus post-secondary technical training in electrical, electronics, or networking (≥30 credits) or completion of the department's traffic signal and lighting apprenticeship program (internal).
• One year of signal and lighting field experience.
• Passing grade on the CDL written exam is required before hire; must pass the driving portion with tanker endorsement, Class B, interstate status.
• Successful completion of a work simulation exam and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Assist on emergency calls involving signals, lighting, ITS, aviation and communications equipment and take appropriate action.
• Assist in investigating customer service reports related to signal and lighting operations and report findings.
• Respond to routine utility locates from Missouri One Call.
• Assist in installation, repair, and maintenance of signal equipment, radio comms, ITS, roadway and navigational lighting and related devices.
• Assist in interpreting signal circuit plans and schematics for troubleshooting electronics.
