Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an entry-level to senior maintenance worker to support the daily upkeep of Missouri’s roadways and facilities. The role involves routine duties under direct supervision and opportunities for career advancement within a career-ladder path.

The position includes operating vehicles, performing repairs, and assisting in traffic control measures to ensure public safety and infrastructure integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• CDL written exam and driving portion with tanker endorsement within 60 days after hire; must have Class B interstate status and no air brake restrictions.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems, patches potholes, and manages traffic control devices and debris.
• Maintains and repairs highway facilities, signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and equipment.
• Operates vehicles to transport employees, equipment, machinery and materials; plows snow and spreads ice control materials.
• May repair bridge decks and drains; may work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install signs, pour concrete sign footings, weld posts, and maintain break-away/overlay signs.
