Job summary

Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician I–III to install, maintain, and repair traffic signal systems across the county. The role requires manual labor, safe operation of tools, and coordination with utility and government staff.

Candidates should hold a high school diploma or GED; relevant electrical/electronic experience is valued, with opportunities to progress through Technician I, II, and III.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for all levels.
• Experience with electrical/electronic devices is valued.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Ability to complete field and shop reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor in construction of traffic signal control systems.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of traffic signal devices.
• Operate boom lift and perform aerial maintenance.
• Perform utility locates and report results.
• Coordinate with other government and utilities personnel.
• Learn GIS mapping of facilities and infrastructure.
