Job summary

The City of Marietta is seeking an entry-level position to support the installation and maintenance of all traffic signals, school flashers, fiber optic network, traffic signs, pavement, and curb markings used by the city.

You will assist with wiring, pavement work, sign installation, and equipment maintenance, and participate in after-hours call rotation. The role requires drug screening, background inquiry, and a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of outside electrical construction experience.
• At least 2 years of heavy manual outside labor experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience reading blueprints and producing layout from plans.
• Knowledge of sign production materials and methods.
• Ability to work punctually and reliably.
• Current IMSA Work Zone Safety certification at hire or within 1 year.
• Current GDOT flagging certification at hire or within 1 year.
• Able to perform heavy manual tasks in all weather conditions.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and clean driving history.
• Good physical condition for outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and maintaining traffic signals, signs, and curb markings.
• Support after-hours call rotation with Traffic Signal Technician.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning traffic control devices and assist with repairs.
• Assist with fiber-optic network installation and maintenance.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and shop area; transport as needed.
• Assist with sign installation and reflectivity testing.
