Colorado Department of Transportation in Aurora seeks an Apprentice Electrician (Electrical Trade I) to ensure traffic signal and electrical systems function safely and continuously. This role requires at least two years of electrical experience and may involve an apprentice pathway.

You will install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices, respond to emergencies, and work with engineers and contractors.

Formación

• At least two years of progressively responsible electrical experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
• Post high-school education in electrical coursework will be considered.
• Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program will be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, repair, and inspect traffic control devices and systems including traffic signals, beacons, lighting, and signs.
• Determine emergency troubleshooting and repair of traffic signals and control devices.
• Verify signal programming and operate the regional traffic signal system.
• Serve as lead worker on projects including scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work crew while ensuring safety and quality.
• Respond 24/7 to emergencies involving signalized intersections and interchanges.
• Locate underground cables and utilities and operate locating equipment around live lines.
