The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks an Apprentice Electrician (Electrical Trade I) in Aurora to ensure traffic signal and related equipment operate safely and reliably.

Two years of electrical experience or equivalent training is required. The position offers biweekly pay, a total annual compensation of $51,360 to $56,484, plus a housing stipend and comprehensive State benefits including PERA retirement and paid time off.

Formación

• Two years of progressively responsible electrical experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
• Combination of relevant education, apprenticeship, or experience totaling at least two years.
• Progressively responsible electrical experience in areas such as process control, PLCs, traffic signals.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, repair, and inspect traffic control devices and systems.
• Determine emergency troubleshooting and repair of signals and control devices.
• Verify signal programming and operate the regional signal system.
• Serve as lead worker on projects, scheduling and supervising crews.
• Operate aerial devices, backhoes, and other equipment.
• Respond 24/7 to electrical emergencies involving signals and lighting.
• Provide input to engineers and contractors on signal locations and design.
• Inspect installations for code compliance and safety.
