The role requires formal apprenticeship or substantial related experience, with multiple licensing pathways such as CA electrician certification or IMSA Level III.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship as an electrician or equivalent training/experience in electrical or electronic control work.
• Two years of full-time paid experience as an Assistant Signal Systems Electrician with LA or two years in electrical/electronics control work with required coursework.
• Four years as Electrical Craft Helper with LA and required education.
• Completion of ITS Intelligent Transportation Systems program and one year journey level experience in Traffic Signal Systems or valid CA Electrician Certification or IMSA Level III.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and modify electric and microprocessor-based traffic signal control devices and related video/computer communications systems.
• May act as a lead for signal construction or signal systems crew.
• Adhere to required safety and licensing standards and ensure compliance with city policies.
