Job summary

The City of Missouri City, known as the “Show Me City,” is seeking two qualified Sign Technician II to join the Public Works Department in Missouri City, TX. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signs and pavement markings under TxDOT requirements.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, reading plans, and coordinating with the striping crew. IMSA Work Zone Traffic Safety Certification within one year and a Class C license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain IMSA Work Zone Traffic Safety Certification within one year.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Experience with traffic signs and pavement markings preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for installation and maintenance of signs and markings.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with TxDOT requirements and City specifications.
• Set up traffic control and lane closures for pavement marking operations.
• Maintain and repair striping equipment and tools.
