Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer/Planner with a traffic and safety focus to join our Florida team. This role supports transportation planning and engineering studies across expressways, corridors, and intersections, from concept through final design.

The ideal candidate will hold a Florida PE (or reciprocity within 3 months) or an AICP, with 5+ years of traffic experience and proficiency in tools like Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD Civil3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida or reciprocity within 3 months.
• AICP certification as alternative to licensure.
• 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering/planning experience.
• Proficiency with listed software and CAD tools.
• Office-based role with potential field work.
• PTOE or Road Safety Professional certification is a plus.
• Experience with Microstation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic forecasting, safety, and operational analyses.
• Perform safety-related services including crash data analysis and countermeasures evaluation.
• Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses using Complete Streets practices.
• Utilize software tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, Python) for analyses.
• Prepare written technical reports documenting study results.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and review agencies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on planning studies and design tasks.
