Job summary

Stantec seeks an experienced Transportation Engineer/Planner with a traffic and safety focus to join our Florida team. This role supports projects from concept through final design, including traffic forecasting, safety analyses, and multi-modal studies.

Based in Coral Gables or nearby offices, you will work with multidisciplinary teams, engage with state and local agencies, and contribute to corridor and intersection improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field required.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to reciprocity within 3 months.
• 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering/planning experience.
• Proficiency with software including Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, VISSIM, Vistro, Sidra, CUBE/Voyager, TransCAD, VISUM, ArcGIS, Python, Signal 4 Analytics, IHSDM, CAP-X, and ICE.
• Experience with CAD software such as Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Civil3D is a plus.
• Certification as PTOE or Road Safety Professional is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic forecasting, safety, and operational analyses.
• Perform safety-related services including crash data analysis and countermeasure recommendations.
• Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses using Complete Streets practices.
• Work with software tools and prepare technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Interact with state/local agencies and ensure designs meet engineering standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on planning studies, PD&E studies, ITS/TSM&O projects.
