Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc is hiring Protectors to work at traffic work sites. No experience or degree required; we provide training and support to build a career in traffic safety.

Daily duties include setting up cones and signs, directing traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and ensuring safety rules are followed. Expect outdoor work year-round and varying shifts, with opportunities for promotion as Senior Protector or Lead Protector.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside all year, in all weather.
• Shifts may change based on job needs; some nights/weekends may be required.
• May stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
