Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring Protectors to join our traffic management team in Maryland. No experience or degree required; we provide training, safety gear, and opportunities to advance as you build a career in traffic safety. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic using stop/slow paddles, and work outdoors in all weather.

Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work. You’ll stand or walk up to 12 hours per shift and earn $18.50–$19.25 per hour with paid training and

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work a changing schedule including nights and weekends.
• Must pass pre-hire screening including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and remove traffic control equipment.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
