Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Protector to work on traffic-control teams at various job sites. No experience or degree is required as training is provided; safety comes first and career growth is supported.

Expect outdoor work year-round, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, or emergencies. Daily tasks include setting up cones and signs, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and ensuring equipment and vehicles stay clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; arrive on time for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Following all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Working outside year-round, in all weather.
• Shifts may require nights, weekends, or emergencies.
• Stand or walk 8–12 hours per shift.
• Provided PPE; bring steel-toed boots that go above the ankle.
