Job summary

WSP is seeking a Traffic Engineering Project Manager for our Minneapolis, MN office. The role is home/in-office hybrid and focuses on leading traffic engineering projects, managing client relationships, and growing the business across Minnesota.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree (traffic emphasis), 7–10 years in traffic projects, at least 5 years in leadership, and proven ability to develop proposals and win work with state, county, and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis on traffic.
• 7–10 years of experience in traffic engineering projects.
• Minimum 5 years leading and managing traffic projects.
• Proven ability to manage workloads and multiple projects.
• Deep understanding of public sector transportation procurement.
• Ability to lead proposal development and form partnerships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Experience leading traffic corridor studies and producing high-quality analyses.
• Experience with state DOTs and local governments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and overall management of traffic projects across Minnesota.
• Support traffic projects within the Midwest region.
• Grow the Traffic team through client development and teaming.
• Identify opportunities and assist in business development.
• Coordinate with regional leaders to identify workshare.
• Manage project development tasks, analyses, and reports.
• Collaborate with disciplines to support projects.
• Improve quality and delivery of traffic projects.
• Support agency coordination, permitting, and public participation.
• Lead marketing activities, client intelligence, and proposals.
