Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Minnesota is seeking a Traffic Specialist to direct and coordinate the movement of finished goods to customers, warehouses, and storage facilities, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-efficient transportation.

You will collaborate with transportation consultants, determine optimal routing, stay informed on industry updates, schedule shipments, and support continuous improvement in traffic management.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Keyboarding skills.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with transportation consultants to enhance Thomson Reuters' transportation methods and procedures.
• Determining the most efficient routing and mode of transportation for shipments.
• Staying informed about changes in the transportation industry and updates from major carriers.
• Scheduling shipments and notifying departments or customers of arrival dates.
• Investigating causes of damage, shortages, or overcharges in consignments.
• Supporting investigations into late deliveries and identifying overcharges.
• Coordinating contract, ITP, and Creative Services bulk shipments as primary distribution contact.
• Conducting studies on packaging, warehousing, and loading to evaluate procedures and standards.
• Supporting changes to improve control and efficiency in traffic management.
• Gathering data to assist in preparing the department budget.
• Representing Thomson Reuters in organizations such as the PCC.
• Providing training on tracking availability to departments as requested.
