Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Laredo, TX is seeking a Transportation Specialist I or II in Traffic Operations to support design, construction, traffic data collection, and safety improvements across the district.

The role features a day shift, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with 25% travel, and a salary range reflecting Specialist I and II levels from $48,244 to $81,351 per year depending on the level. A valid US driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, bridge inspection experience.
• 4 years transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, bridge inspection experience.
• Valid US driver’s license; this position requires driving a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administering contracts for installation and maintenance of traffic systems and/or traffic data collection devices.
• Coordinate and monitor Community Traffic Safety Programs and District Highway Safety Plan.
• Assist with project design involving design calculations, sketches, and layouts.
• Coordinate traffic studies, analyze data, and prepare plan layouts for signs, signals, and ITS devices.
