Job summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) invites applicants for an entry-level position in highway operations and traffic management. You will learn to operate CHART ATMS, CCTV, DMS, HAR, and other ITS devices to keep traffic flowing and incidents under control.

Responsibilities

• Access and verify incident/congestion conditions via CCTV and ITS for incident detection.
• Program and operate ITS devices such as Dynamic Message Signs and HAR.
• Coordinate with police, maintenance, and vehicle recovery units.
• Monitor real-time traffic data to detect congestion and incidents.
• Operate CHART ATMS and Lane Use Signals to manage traffic flow.
• Prepare logs and reports on traffic conditions and incidents.
