Job summary

Bonneville Power Administration in Vancouver, WA seeks a Traffic Management Specialist to optimize logistics for capital and maintenance projects. You will coordinate freight shipments, manage delivery schedules, and advise on staffing and funding to maximize resource use under NSLT supervision.

You will serve as a liaison between Supply Chain Services and Technical Field Services, oversee QA for transportation, and drive process improvements while ensuring DOT and HazMat compliance and driver

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 in the Federal service.
• Experience coordinating freight shipments, carrier rates, and delivery schedules.
• Experience assisting with fleet operations and DOT/HazMat compliance.
• Experience may include paid or unpaid work and must meet eligibility by closing date.

Duties

As a Traffic Management Specialist, You Will

• Advise on planning and scheduling work assignments to insure maximum use of resources and achievement of priority work within guidelines established by the NSLT supervisor.


• Give input on standards of performance, integrity, and general conduct, and inform NSLT supervisor of employees' compliance with those standards as well as with administrative rules, regulations, and procedures.


• Advise on oversight of quality assurance functions including administration of quality standards, contract inspection requirements, and processes related to transportation contract quality assurance.


• Support project materials management, act as a liaison between Supply Chain Services and Technical Field Services and Field Services for the purpose of managing and coordinating delivery of project materials for capital and maintenance projects.


• Advise NSLT manager with recommendations and justifications for necessary staffing and funding allocations, and contribute to the oversight within the immediate organization for their effective and efficient utilization.


• Contribute to team-oriented, effective, harmonious and productive formal and informal working relationships within his/her organization and between his/her organization and other organizations.


• Serve as warehouse/transportation liaison to field activities and personnel, including regional managers, in determining that client service standards are being met with regards to delivery of the right materials, in the right quantities, to the right locations.


• Contribute to process improvement efforts for transportation process activities.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-11] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience 1) coordinating and tracking commercial freight shipments, carrier rates, claims, and delivery schedules to support operational and project material requirements; and 2) assisting with fleet operations, driver safety practices, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and hazardous materials (HazMat) regulations.
