Stanley Consultants seeks a Student Intern to join our Traffic Engineering Department in Phoenix, AZ. You will learn basic traffic engineering principles, assist with studies and designs, and support staff on state and municipal projects.

The role emphasizes AutoCAD/OpenRoads, Synchro, Vistro, and MS Office tools, with field visits and data analysis as part of the learning process. Local, current civil engineering students preferred for part-time scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be a college junior.
• Enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program.
• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering.
• Local candidates preferred; part-time role for a current civil engineering student.
• Traffic engineering experience or coursework preferred.
• Interested in pursuing a career in traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Understanding engineering studies, drawings, and specifications
• Performing and checking engineering calculations
• Performing quantity calculations and take-offs
• Basic operation of AutoCAD and/or OpenRoads
• Preparing Traffic Engineering studies utilizing Synchro, Vistro and Microsoft Office products
• Performing field visits
• Gaining familiarity with traffic engineering software
• Back checking drawings
