Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. invites applicants for the Transportation Engineering Intern (Traffic) – Summer 2027. You’ll join the Traffic Engineering group across San Antonio, Austin, or Houston, TX, contributing to traffic operations, safety analyses, corridor studies, and design tasks using tools like AutoCAD, Synchro, and Vissim.

A related internship and US work authorization are preferred. You will assist senior engineers with data collection, analyses, and reports while collaborating

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with transportation emphasis.
• Previous internship related to the field is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support analyses, studies, and design efforts for municipal, state, and federal clients.
• Perform traffic analysis tasks, data collection, reporting, and write technical reports.
• Conduct civil design calculations, sketches, drawings, and technical comparisons.
• Utilize design and traffic simulation software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Synchro, Vissim).
• Research design options and document findings for project engineers/managers.
• Assist project engineers and project managers as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with project team members and clients.
