Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. in New York City seeks a Civil/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team, working on projects that improve traffic flow, safety, and infrastructure for DOT clients both locally and globally.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on transportation projects, using tools such as SYNCHRO, HCS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D under professional supervision to gain practical design experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree.
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Ideally, Engineer in Training (EIT) or on track to obtain.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications.
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during construction.
• Use of computer-aided engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception through final plan preparations.
• Providing support to engineering staff members, as needed.
