Job summary

Butler, Fairman and Seufert (BF&S) seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer/Project Manager to lead a variety of traffic engineering projects from multiple Indiana offices. You will oversee forecasting, design, and coordination with clients and sub-consultants.

The role requires a PE license in Indiana or the ability to obtain one within six months, plus several years in traffic analysis, design, and project management. Travel within Indiana is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering with a P.E. license in Indiana or the ability to obtain one within six months.
• 7+ years in traffic forecasting, safety, capacity, operations analysis, and design elements.
• Experience with traffic data collection, studies, signal design, and lighting design.
• MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead client communications and provide project status updates.
• Forecast and analyze traffic via Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, and Sidra.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets for Federal Aid/INDOT/local projects.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with sub-consultants.
• Review design calculations and write traffic and safety reports.
• Oversee traffic signal, lighting, and signage design for INDOT projects.
