Butler, Fairman & Seufert, Inc. seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer/Project Manager to support multiple Indiana office locations (Indianapolis, Lafayette, Merrillville, Evansville, Plainfield, Jeffersonville, Fort Wayne).

You will lead traffic engineering projects, coordinate with clients, and manage scope, schedule, and budgets. You will forecast and analyze traffic with Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, and Sidra, mentor engineers, and ensure QA/QC across design work for Federal Aid and local

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• PE licensure in Indiana or ability to obtain within six months is required.
• 7+ years of experience in traffic forecasting, safety, capacity, operations analysis, and traffic design elements.
• PTOE certification is preferred or eligible for certification within 2 years.
• RSP certification is preferred.
• Experience with traffic data collection and preparing various traffic studies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main client liaison, providing status reports and coordinating communications.
• Forecast and analyze traffic using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, and Sidra.
• Lead design directives and manage tasks for Federal Aid, INDOT, and local projects from notice-to-proceed through post letting.
• Assist in defining scope, schedule, and budgets for new projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with sub-consultants.
• Review design calculations and prepare Traffic Impact Studies, Safety Analyses, and related reports.
• Perform Traffic Signal Design, Lighting Design, and complex Signage for local and INDOT projects.
