Job summary

Stantec seeks a highly motivated Traffic Engineer (PE) to work on transportation projects ranging from small to high-profile. You will apply sound engineering principles to traffic operations, safety analyses, and design tasks, including signal timing and ITS/ATMS implementations.

The role requires BSCE, a PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and at least 5 years of traffic engineering project experience; familiarity with DOT standards and PS&E is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering minimum.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 5 years traffic engineering project experience.
  • Experience with traffic operations and safety; MUTCD knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Design traffic signal systems, timing, and ITS/ATMS; conduct capacity analyses.
  • Prepare construction documents and PS&E plans for highway projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical aspects of projects.
  • Train staff on design and operational analysis software packages.
