Job summary

Stantec in Plano, TX seeks a Traffic Engineer (PE) to work on high-profile roadway projects. You will perform traffic operations analyses, design signal timing, and contribute to PS&E packages in accordance with TxDOT standards.

Ideal candidates have a BSCE, TX PE license within 6 months, and at least 5 years of traffic engineering experience. The role offers full-time, on-site work with a strong benefits package and opportunities to grow within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) minimum.
• TX PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years traffic engineering project experience.
• TxDOT Precertification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Projects include traffic signal system design and re-timing, operational analysis, roadway capacity analysis, traffic safety studies, traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking and design, street lighting / illumination design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS).
• Prepare construction documents and cost estimates for City, County and State roadway and highway projects.
• Perform complex engineering design tasks per Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT's) design standards.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the technical aspects of assigned projects.
• Train developing staff on design and operational analysis software packages for traffic engineering projects.
