Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Four to six years of related experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Familiar with South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) design standards and specifications.
• South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within six months.
• IMSA Level 2 preferred.
• PTOE or RSP2I preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement traffic improvements for safe mobility.
• Conduct traffic studies and analyze data to identify patterns and safety issues.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and oversee traffic-related construction and maintenance projects.
• Prepare reports and present findings to committees and officials.
• Oversee traffic control plans and timing for public infrastructure projects.
• Manage multi-modal and pedestrian/bicycle infrastructure initiatives.
• Represent the County before boards and commissions on transportation issues.

South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months
