Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Traffic Engineer - EIT or PE to lead planning, design, and analysis for freeway, highway, and urban roadway projects. You will own tasks from initiation to delivery, mentored by senior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines.

The role emphasizes applying MUTCD and agency standards, producing clear memos and plans, and developing robust traffic control strategies while supporting project scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in both Traffic Analysis and Traffic Design.
• EIT (passing FE exam) or PE license in Idaho.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation engineering with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho within one year of hire.
• Experience with ITD, LHTAC, ACHD, City of Caldwell, City of Nampa and other Local Agencies in Treasure Valley.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and analyze traffic on freeways, interstates, interchanges, and urban/rural roads under supervision.
• Prepare studies, memos, reports, plans, specs, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Produce deliverables including memos, design plans, and technical reports.
• Design traffic signals, illumination, signing, and pavement markings for various roadways.
• Develop maintenance of traffic and traffic control plans.
• Apply MUTCD, DOT, and local standards to create compliant designs.
• Coordinate design elements with multidisciplinary teams.
