Established civil engineering firm headquartered in Columbus, OH looking for a Traffic Engineer to join their transportation team.

Salary

$70,000 - $90,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Manage the collection of data, including traffic and parking counts, safety records, field inventories, and site assessments; project and analyze future traffic conditions; research local, state, and federal regulations; and coordinate with land development, rezoning, and long-range land use planning efforts.
  • Perform planning and design of traffic control, traffic signalization, maintenance of traffic during construction, roadway lighting, and signal systems, incorporating communication networks such as wireless, fiber optic, and other technologies.
  • Project traffic flows and parking impacts generated by land use and roadway changes; identify roadway and parking deficiencies, and develop and analyze proposed solutions using capacity analysis, micro-simulation, turn lane warrants, signal warrants, safety analysis, and other evaluation criteria.
  • Develop, review, assess, and apply jurisdictional standards and policy requirements based on project location and client needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, required.
  • Relevant work experience, including internships or co-op experiences in civil, construction, or related fields, and exposure to an engineering consulting firm environment, preferred.
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in transportation studies.
