Job summary

Provo City is seeking a Traffic Electronics Specialist I or II to install, maintain, program, and repair electronic equipment for traffic signals and control systems in the city.

This role requires a two-year electronics-related degree, two years of experience, and IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I/II certification within one year. A valid driver's license is required. Compensation ranges from $30.07 to $49.21 per hour with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a two-year degree in electronics, telecommunications, networking, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing relevant electronic systems.
• A valid, lawful Driver License.
• Electronics Specialist I: must obtain IMSA Level I within one year.
• Electronics Specialist II: IMSA Level I; must obtain Level II within one year.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, install, and calibrate traffic electronics including signal controllers, ramp meters, lighting, alarms, cameras, and message boards.
• Troubleshoot and repair traffic control systems and equipment.
• Assemble, fabricate, and repair structures and equipment using instructions and drawings.
• Inspect facilities and equipment for safe operation and quality.
• Install and configure parts, wiring, hardware, and software.
• Diagnose system and network problems and identify root causes.
