Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking an ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) / Traffic Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Transportation team in Minneapolis or Plymouth.

The role supports planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of traffic engineering and ITS initiatives across a broad set of projects in the Midwest. The successful candidate will assist project managers and engineers, perform design computations, prepare preliminary reports, and contribute to corridor studies and ITS design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Interest in ITS, connected & automated vehicles, and related technologies.
• Strong technical writing skills required.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and emerging technologies.
• Valid driver's license for travel to facilities and job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on transportation projects.
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, and prepare rough drafts of reports.
• Assist with project plans, specifications, and cost/quantity estimates.
• Support traffic corridor studies related to operations, safety, and access management.
• Assist in designing traffic control devices including signals, signing, pavement markings, and ITS components.
