Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems Hazleton, PA is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures, ensuring safe work zones on state highways and other roadways.

The role requires 1–3 years of traffic control experience and 2,000 field hours, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background, drug, and DOT checks. Travel statewide with possible overnight stays and rotating on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass background check (motor vehicle records).
• Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Must wear safety equipment (boots, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Able to read plans and implement traffic control plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone and ensure items are in proper locations.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports.
