Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician in Florida to set up and take down lane closures on state highways and other roadways, redirecting traffic for crews and ensuring safety. You will operate company trucks, drive MOT and TMA vehicles, install signs and safety devices, and perform routine maintenance.

Requires a valid driver’s license, 1–3 years of traffic control experience, ability to pass background and drug tests, and ATSSA TCT training.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours.
• Must pass background check, including MVR; must pass drug test per federal DOT.
• Wear PPE: safety boots with toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest.
• Able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas and position arrow boards or VAR boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in place.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift start/end; perform equipment maintenance.
• Follow all safety rules, company policies, and procedures; willingness to travel statewide.
