Job summary

Capacity LLC in New Jersey seeks a proactive Logistics Supervisor to lead a team of up to 15 associates in a fast-paced setting. You will drive daily operations, ensure safety, and uphold SOP compliance while collaborating with internal departments and external carriers.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish, and proven experience managing a logistics team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of up to 15 associates, providing leadership, guidance, and training.
• Collaborate with internal departments within the same building and across other facilities to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Maintain and enforce department SOPs, acting as the subject matter expert within the department.
• Demonstrate proactive thinking by anticipating challenges and providing timely, effective solutions, with accountability for performance.
• Implement and refine processes to drive efficiency; work with different types of machinery as needed.
• Lead by example with a professional demeanor and uphold company values and chain of command.
• Serve as a liaison with external carrier, ensuring outbound shipments are executed flawlessly.
• Ensure all shipments meet deadlines, including submission of ASNs, tendering freight, and accurate BOLs and documentation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Excel, email, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure OSHA-compliant practices and a clean workspace.
• Work in a fast-paced environment that may involve standing for extended periods and variable temperatures.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management:
  • Supervise a team of up to 15 associates, providing leadership, guidance, and training. Identify team members' strengths and areas for improvement, developing them accordingly.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal departments within the same building and across other facilities to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Process & SOP Compliance:
  • Maintain and enforce department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), ensuring they are up to date. Act as the subject matter expert within the department.
• Problem Solving & Proactiveness:
  • Demonstrate proactive thinking by anticipating challenges and providing timely, effective solutions. Take accountability for departmental performance and issues.
• Process Implementation:
  • Implement and refine processes to drive efficiency. Work with different types of machinery as required to support daily operations.
• Leadership & Professionalism:
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Uphold company values and follow the proper chain of command.
• Carrier & Vendor Relations:
  • Serve as a liaison with external carrier, representing the company in a professional manner, Ensure all the outbound shipments are executed flawlessly
• Timeliness & Accuracy:
  • Ensure all shipments meet their deadlines, regardless of challenges. This includes timely submission of ASNs, tendering of freight, and ensuring accurate BOLs and documentation.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems, including Excel, email, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Work Environment:
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that may require standing for extended periods and working in variable temperatures (hot or cold depending on the season).
