W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company in Mississippi is seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) to support highway and paving projects. This role requires hands-on experience managing traffic control on active road construction, including lane closures and night work.

You will plan setups, coordinate with crews and MDOT personnel, inspect work zones, and ensure safety and compliance across multiple sites in the state.

Qualifications

  • Current Traffic Control Supervisor certification accepted by MDOT.
  • Experience supervising traffic control on highway construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of work zone plans, the MUTCD, and MDOT traffic control requirements.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel to projects across Mississippi as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely around live traffic.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or courses in business administration, accounting, or automotive/diesel shop management is a plus.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a clerical or bookkeeping role, with direct experience working in an equipment shop, fleet dealership, or construction maintenance facility highly preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result.
  • Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a “Capable” result
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
  • Experience preferred Work Environment:

This role operates in both office and active construction site environments. Candidate must be able to perform site walks, attend field meetings, and ensure on‑site safety and compliance.
