The State of West Virginia seeks a Transportation Worker 2 Traffic Control apprentice for District 4, covering Monongalia, Marion, Taylor, Doddridge, Harrison, and Preston Counties. The role includes installing and repairing roadway signs and assisting with sign installation on breakaway supports, following state standards and safety protocols.

CDL eligibility is required within six months. Selected applicants will enter a U.S.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procedures, techniques, and equipment used in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Install and remove signposts and traffic control signs.
• Operate hydraulic post driver to set signposts.
• Set up lane closures and detours at work zones.
• Distribute signs from Central Sign Shop to districts.
• Travel may be required; maintain and report records.
