Job summary

The State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Worker 3 Traffic Control to maintain and repair roadway signs, fabricate signs, and operate state equipment. The role involves following safety procedures, handling materials, and assisting with work orders across several counties.

A CDL may be required within six months, with apprenticeship progress tied to hours, training, and proficiency. As a valued member of the DOT team, you will work irregular hours, weekends, and potentially over 40

Qualifications

• Fabrication and repair of highway signs per state standards.
• Operate state equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Assist with inventory control and material reporting.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair road signs and sign supports.
• Install and maintain electronic traffic signal systems.
• Inspect and repair traffic signal systems as required.
• Operate forklift and warehouse equipment for inventory tasks.
• Prepare signs for transport across districts; travel may be required.
