Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring a Protector to work at job sites across the region. No experience or degree is required as training is provided. You will set up traffic control devices, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules throughout every shift.

Expect outdoor work year-round, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, or emergencies. The role offers paid training, a safety certificate, and opportunities to advance to Senior Protector or Field Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors for long periods.
• Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; punctual for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take down traffic control equipment.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught during training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
