Appleton Finn in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking an experienced Traffic Control Foreman to lead on active civil and infrastructure projects. You will oversee traffic control operations, coordinate devices, and ensure safe, compliant work zones on-site.

Ideal candidates bring proven field leadership, a current traffic control certification, and strong knowledge of work-zone safety and traffic management. This role offers a long-term opportunity with an established contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience as Traffic Control Foreman or similar field leadership role in heavy civil construction.
• Must hold a current traffic control certification.
• Strong knowledge of temporary traffic control, work-zone safety and traffic management.
• Experience supporting roadway or major civil infrastructure projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily traffic control operations across active sites.
• Coordinate installation, maintenance and removal of temporary traffic control devices.
• Manage lane closures, detours, signage, barriers and work-zone setups.
• Ensure traffic control plans are correctly implemented and maintained.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers and field crews.
• Conduct inspections of traffic control setups and address safety/compliance issues.
• Manage manpower, equipment and materials for traffic control operations.
• Maintain focus on public, workforce and jobsite safety.

A well-established heavy civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Traffic Control Foreman to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This is a field leadership position responsible for overseeing traffic control operations on active civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring work zones are set up safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily traffic control operations across active construction sites.
• Coordinate the installation, maintenance and removal of temporary traffic control devices.
• Manage lane closures, detours, signage, barriers and work-zone setups.
• Ensure traffic control plans are correctly implemented and maintained throughout construction.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Project Managers and field crews to support daily construction activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups and address safety or compliance issues.
• Manage manpower, equipment and materials required for traffic control operations.
• Maintain a strong focus on public, workforce and jobsite safety.

Experience & Requirements

• Previous experience as a Traffic Control Foreman, Traffic Control Supervisor or similar field leadership position within heavy civil construction.
• Must hold a current traffic control certification.
• Strong understanding of temporary traffic control, work-zone safety and traffic management.
• Experience supporting roadway, transportation or major civil infrastructure projects preferred.
• Ability to read and implement traffic control plans.
• Strong field leadership and communication skills.

Compensation & Package

• Base salary up to $105,000
