Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring Protectors to manage traffic at job sites. You’ll set up cones, signs, and barriers, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules. Training is provided, with a focus on building a lasting career in traffic safety.

Eligible applicants can receive paid training and a traffic safety certificate, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, or emergencies. You may stand or walk 8–12 hours per shift, and will be equipped with safety gear by the company.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; punctuality for every shift.
• Pre-hire screening including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take equipment down.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site.
• Follow safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round in various weather conditions.
