Qualifications

• Successfully complete traffic control training & display the ability to operate flagging equipment used for traffic control per Penn DOT requirements.
• Be knowledgeable of and understand Penn DOT regulations for traffic control and the responsibility to the public and the work crew for their safety.
• Training course provided by JRK (6 hours); employment contingent upon passing Penn DOT flagger course; testing at office in Alexandria, Huntingdon County.

Responsibilities

• Communicate instructions clearly, firmly and courteously and follow the same.
• Recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn coworkers in time to avoid injury.
• Move quickly to avoid danger from errant vehicles.
• Control signaling devices and use a radio to guide drivers in changing traffic control zones.
• Complete a full shift of physical labor standing for long periods in extreme weather.
