Job summary

Phillips Contracting Co. & Falcon Contracting Co. is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to safely direct vehicles, equipment, and pedestrians through active construction zones. You will follow traffic control procedures and communicate clearly with the crew to maintain safe flow.

Responsibilities include setting up and removing devices, monitoring hazards, and coordinating with supervisors. Candidates must pass drug, background, and MVR screenings; training for Flagger Certification is provided.

Qualifications

• Willing to obtain Flagger Certification; training provided.
• Able to stand for long periods, work in extreme weather, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication to stay calm in stressful environments.
• Reliable transportation to job sites.
• Follow instructions and maintain safety-first mindset.
• Punctual, dependable, and professional in appearance and behavior.

Responsibilities

• Direct traffic through work zones using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, radios, and signage.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices in accordance with standards.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to identify hazards and adjust traffic patterns as needed.
• Communicate clearly with other flaggers, equipment operators, and supervisors to coordinate safe movement through the work zone.
• Provide direction to motorists, ensuring safe, courteous interactions.
• Monitor work zone conditions and report unsafe activity, near misses, or incidents.
• Assist with cleanup and breakdown of traffic control setups at shift end.
• Remain alert for long periods in high-traffic or high-risk areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
