Job summary

American Flagging seeks a Traffic Control Apprentice to manage traffic around construction zones and protect workers, motorists, and pedestrians. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with a retention bonus program totaling $250, distributed after 60 days ($100) and after 6 months ($150).

No prior traffic control experience is required; we provide Traffic Control/Flagger Certification during orientation and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Team player and reliable with a professional demeanor.
• Able to stand 8+ hours and work outdoors in all weather.
• Willing to submit a drug screen and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control zones per project requirements.
• Communicate clearly with drivers to guide traffic and ensure safety.
• Monitor traffic and respond to safety hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors using radios or signals.
• Wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
